Why do you need a BIOS update for some steam games? That doesn't really make sense.

As for flashing, that looks like the correct one. It is made to be flashed from a DOS disc or USB key but that motherboard supports Q-Flash, which will let you flash from a USB with the M68TS231.FC file on it. Your specs above show you are on FB bios and this would FC bios, one step up, but all it add's is support for newer processors.

http://www.gigabyte.us/webpage/20/HowToReflashBIOS.html Those are steps to flash it.

I don't see how it will affect steam games and if your CPU is detected, there is no sense in flashing.

AMD FX Bulldozer processer causes tears and choppy game play in multiple steam games. (Shogun 2,CFGO,SaintsRow 3)

Because every time you flash your BIOS, you risk bricking your motherboard, flashing a BIOS for the same motherboard but wrong revision and brick it.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Just tell this guy, update it if you want for no reason........ http://www.tomshardware.com/answers/id-1735716/bios-upd...
