PC only starts when breadboard, won't POST in case

I've recently built a new PC and I tested the breadboard first to make sure the mobo and CPU work, it POSTed with no problems. I put it inside the case, the power LED flashes for a second and the fans don't even turn. I tested the breadboard again, it booted to the BIOS. I made sure my front panel headers were connected correctly, what could've went wrong?

If you have made sure that all of the cables are plugged in correctly like atx, eps etc. and it still doesn't post, I would guess that your mobo is short-circuiting on the case. Read the manual and make sure you have used the right screws in the right places as generally there are places which you don't use and more than 1 kind of included screw with the mobo/case.

Are you using exactly the same configuration in both instances such as using the integrated or discrete gpu for both tests?

EDIT: When you put everything in the case, only plug in exactly the same components and connectors that you successfully booted with on the bench. If it still doesn't post either it is a connector you are forgetting to plug in or a short

You're probably right about the short circuiting. Is there anything that might cause this cause I double checked all connections and the power LED still only blinks for half a second and turns off.
