I plan on building a new gaming rig in September. I'm set on the 780 but since I'm primarily gonna be playing BF4 I figured I might as well wait for there new cards since it will be optimized for AMD and it will come free with it. Is it worth it? Or should I just stay with the 780

Solution
The 9970 is supposedly set to release in October of 2014 to accompany Battlefield 4. It is supposed to have a 30% gain in performance. I see the 9970 as a looking like a very good card to compete against the 780. They will likely add bundles to increase the value, unless you really need an extremely powerful card now, I would wait. What is your current graphics card?

I have the 4870 x2 but it's breaking down and I'm upgrading my entire computer to thishttp://pcpartpicker.com/p/1hr8

This upgrade is much more viable for the future, the parts are much more suited to next gen gaming, a 780 is not really comfortable with a 955BE unless you overclock it to around 4.0, while the FX6300 has ton of overclocking headroom- http://pcpartpicker.com/p/1hBiE What motherboard are you currently using?

I don't want an upgrade. I want a new computer. I hate mine and I have the money for a new one. I probably should have said this before but I'm gonna be using it for rendering and steaming so the parts you gave me aren't adequate. I want to be able to play modern and next gen games at 1920x1080 at highest graphical settings and still maintain 60 fps. PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant / Benchmarks

Nice choice, you really can't go wrong with either the 780 or the 9970. I would say go for it if you really need it. It will be quite the upgrade over your previous system. You linked the wrong system before and that featured a 955BE with 2010-ish gaming requirements. You could drop down to a Seasonic X1050 just to save a little bit of money, but it is negligible for such a high price already. Make sure you plan to buy (if you do not already have it) the 1920x1080+ monitor mentioned in your post, since it is not on the list.
