The only real benefit of having an ssd specific to gaming is loading faster (levels, maps, starting the game maybe). An ssd will really make a difference when it comes to turning on your computer and booting to your login screen/desktop and when opening programs (i.e. internet, word, other productivity programs). And you use a little less power in the process if that matters to you. Gamers usually put their OS, basic programs they use all the time, and a few select games that they play a lot on the ssd. The rest gets put onto the hdd.

It a simple fact.do to the hard drive has moving media there a physical speed limit on how fast data can be written and read from a hard drive. Ssd have no moving parts do the only real speed limit right now is the Ssd controller and the Sata chipset max transfer speed. With the new x90 chipset next year intel now coming out with faster Sata controller called Sata express.
With windows eight and new mb and Ssd you can get super fast boot times and super fast game loading.
