Hi im planning to use the as rock 960(you can find it on amazon) to supports 8 gb of Patriot 1600MHz Dual Channel DDR3 Viper 3 Black Mamba Memory(also can be found on amazon).

Yes, the memory is compatible with your motherboard but depends on your CPU whether it will run or not. AMD FX processors, AMD A4 series, A6 Series and A8 series APU's are known to work with 1600MHz memory. Theoretically, it should work based on the motherboard and by manually setting the frequency in the BIOS.

If it does not work either way then return the memory and get 1333MHz.

i actually decided to use the

Asus M5A78L-M/USB3 Motherboard (Socket AM3+, Up to 16GB DDR3, USB 3.0, uATX)

with a amd fx 6300 and 2*4 gb ram will that work?
