Take a look at my specs before you read this

Asus Z87 deluxe mobo Intel and sli ready
Intel 4770K (That part's haswell right? sounds like it on other things ive read)
stock cooler on the cpu
16gb ram
Nvidia Gtx770 SC
my tower has 3 fans side, front, top, and back

Hi so I've had this custom built pc for about a week and it started having some overheating issues with my cpu. I checked into the bios to see and I saw that it had something with auto overclocking enabled so I disabled that and turned off the tpu switch on my mobo. I'm pretty sure it's my cpu because whenever I'm in game it shoots up to 140F which is a no bueno. I know that haswells run warm but this is a little too hot for battle field bad company 2 on lowest settings any tips?

Also want to add that I never oc'ed this and I don't want it to automatically do this. The mannual says that u can set it to Auto Manual or XMP I just want it to not mess with the current state of the cpu

go into the BIOS and try looking for an option for reset to factory, if u don't find it, do a hard reset, disconnect all power, open the case, remove the CMOS battery, keep it out for a few minutes and put it back in

Some mb have clear CMOS button. The easy way go in and click on use factory default or use the CMOS jumper. Before you do that on the main asus bios page make sure the button is set for standard mode. The performance mode button is asus version of over clocking.

I see what you are talking about I tried that but the point is that the default setting call for Ai overclocking autotuner to be set on auto

Depending on which bios you have, Asus has the new UEFI Bios (Love that, if you don't have an ASUS you have to get one just for the Bios)
If you have that just press F5 and it takes everything back to default. I'm not sure how to do it on other mobo's as I've never bought one
