Having issues with my TV and VGA cable.

I have been connecting my PC to my TV via VGA cable for about a year now and it has been working fine. All of a sudden the TV is telling me "No signal through PC". In the control panel under display settings it is detecting that there is a second display and even letting me extend the screens like I was but still the TV screen just displays the same message, I have tried different cables and that also hasn't helped. Can anyone help please as this is the only way I view entertainment.

Thank you for your fast response. I have done just that and cant find any signs of damage, im not sure what else to do short of taking them both apart and having a look (which sadly im not very confident with doing). It happened really randomly, was working fine yesterday and now its not, and this is the first time in around a year of using the same setup.
