So I will be building a gaming computer mainly for fsx and minecraft soon, and these are the components i have come up with. I created this list a while ago so I am wondering if there are updated versions of the parts. I was also wondering how well you think the computer will run.

-Ultra OEM 700W Power Supply
-MSI 970A-G46 AMD 9 Series Motherboard
-AMD FD8150FRGUBOX FX-8150 Processor
-Seagate ST500DM002 Barracuda 3.5" Internal Hard Drive
-Crucial BLS4G3D1339DS1S00 Ballistix Desktop Memory Module (2x 4gb)
-MSI R6670-MD1GD5 Radeon HD 6670 Video Card

P.S. I was planning on replacing the Radeon HD 6670 with the 6850.

Thanks!

1. The power supply I can do.
2. Do you know the how high you can overclock the FX8350. I will probably change to the FX8350 due to the 4 ghz instead of the 3.6ghz (4.2ghz turbo) on the FX8150 (plus it's cheaper!)
3.DO you think I should switch to a NVIDIA. (Just a thought)

I do not know how high it can go but FX8350 is already better without OC compared to FX8150. Perhaps someone else can answer this.

Switch to nVidia? Then GTX650Ti is the minimum :) I see no problem with that. Before you switch, you might want to check the bundled games for all AMD GPUs, those games could change your mind.

For GPU, get the one you can afford.
For each price class, there are equals one from AMD and one from nVidia.
I see no problems choosing any of those equals.
AMD however has plus points due to the bundled games, check the games and then tell us how do you think about them :)

example:
Price HD7850 + bundled game (s) = GTX650Ti
Performance class HD7850 = GTX650Ti
other example
HD7870 = GTX760

I would take really at least HD7850 or GTX650Ti, forget HD6850 :)

for just those games and no video editing i would go with a fx 6350 games do not need that many cores for processing, also if games do start to use more than 4 cores you would have six and it would save some $$ for other parts and i agree with the hd 78xx or 79xx.

with a fx-6300 with hd 7770 ghz i can run games like dead island, gta 4, and far cry 3 on high - max
so it should be much to max out mine craft.

Yes, it would be enough to max out minecraft but fsx is a more cpu intensive game. Also, I will probably do some video editing and play other games in the future.

then i would go with the fx-8xxx then and i would look into the nvidea with the cuda cores for the card then. cuda cores they have are better for video and graphic editing

Not the HD7950. I am not going to a lot of editing but i will do a fair amount.

the only reason i sugested the nvidea is bc they perform better faster with they type of cores they use. don't get me wrong the HD7950 is a solid card and will do the job but the cores the nvidea uses is more suited for editing. that's they only reason i suggested it.

Price wise the hd7950 gets more power to $ than the nvidea equal

I will probably end up with the HD7950 for the price.
