I have a flash drive w/c was infected by virus which hides files and folders. By using folder options in windows explorer,my folder showed up. But when I used DOS (DIR /AH, ), my folder was not showing up. Im using windows 7.

Have you tried using the attrib -h command to change the hidden file attribute? For example I hid the folder Greensboro in the folder Stuff. To change the attribute to unhide it, at a command prompt, I went to the stuff folder and typed attrib -h Greensboro and press enter. The file is no longer hidden and shows up in Windows Explorer and DOS.

Thanks for the answer. But I already tried it. I was just wandering why I couldn't see it in command prompt but I could see it in windows explorer(using folder options-windows 7). I think it's a new enhance virus of hiding folders. Before I encountered such virus and I can easily made it visible with such commands as like; DIR /A, attrib, attrib -r -h -s, and the name of the folder is: <DIR> _ when i unhide it. But now using windows explorer the folder has no name or any character. Only a picture that looks like a box. So I don't know if this new hiding folder virus can be cured or be made visible using DOS commands. I hope you can help me. Thanks

I'm still looking for a solution and will let you know if I find something to help.
