I recently picked up a gaming rig that had good specs, but a crap no-name PSU. I'm a total noob at all this, so I bough a corsair cx600m and threw it in. So far, I've had no problems. I'm just curious as to whether or not my system is getting enough good CLEAN power.
Specs:
CPU: i5 3570K 3.2 GHz
Ram" 8 GB DDR3
GPU: Zotac 660TI

Solution
The CX600 is a budget \ decent PSU , but will have no problem running your system , it was a good choice.

Teir 3 Brands - Power supplies fully able to meet ATX specs, although closer to the edges of the limits than higher tier units. Still solid units.

Acbel Polycom
Akasa PaxPower
Akasa PowerPlus (>greater than 500 watt Models)
AMS Mercury
Antec Earthwatts >greater than 700 watt
Antec Basiq
Antec Phantom
Antec TruePower III
Antec TruePower II
Antec TrueControl II
Antec NeoPower 480 watt (Old Model)
Athena Power Space Shuttle Series
Be Quiet Dark Power Pro
BFG ES
BFG LS
Channel Well
Cooler Master Real Power Pro <less than 800 watt
Cooler Master iGreen...

Corsair is the same as Sea-Sonic. The best available.
By "clean", I think you mean a very steady voltage at the required levels - every important for component long-term health.
NEVER SKIMP on your PSU, even for a budget build (many reasons).
Even though what you describe uses about 300w, get a larger (than 300w) PSU - They are actually more efficient.
The cx600m is a good choice for that price. In the next build, I will get a Gold/Platinum corsair if possible - unless you have some special small form factor ITX build, then Bronze is the best you can do.
I'm not a "pro", but doing my own builds for 30 years. Giving my 2 cents worth.

So a general rule of thumb would be to basically double what your system draws? And thank you for your insight. You must be a wealth of knowledge after all those years tinkering! :)
