Hello. At work, accidentally manually switched my main monitor to hdmi (just trying to adjust the brightness I feel so stupid) I have no hdmi cable so now it won't work. Can't switch back to vga. Tried disconnecting and unplugging, reboot connected it like a new monitor and still says "no hdmi signal detected". Can anyone help?

Solution
what monitor is it? switched, as in you pressed a button? Look for an analog/digital button, if it was that, it'll still be there.

I pressed the menu button on the monitor and I was looking for where to adjust brightness. I wanted to back out of the selection but accidentally pressed menu again which selects the choice I was on. Which happens to be HDMI. It's an ASUS monitor, and I'm looking for the manual now. Maybe they have it online somewhere.

Ok I got it. You cannot get back into the menu, but there is a button next to that with a square and an arrow through it. This is to select your display (DVI, HDMI, VGA). I pressed it til it said VGA again. Then into my control panel, display, change display settings, detect (it detected the second monitor) and chose to extend these displays. I should've noted that I'm using dual monitors (thank goodness I used the second one to hop on here). Asus doesn't have a very helpful support site btw. Thanks guys for the suggestions!
