Hi, i own 2 ssds, 1 corsair force 3 series 120gb, 1 neutron gtx 240gb. My problem is that my neutron connect as an external drive and SCSI mode, i crystaldisk benchmarked it, and its way low speed, how can i fix this?

already benchmarked it with crystaldisk and it gives me 300K read tops.

Got it.

Here are what I would do:
1_ Try to use the Marvell to see any diff.
2_ Look at the BIOS make sure that - the SATA configure is AHCI.
3_ You may need to DL the latest Intel AHCI drivers for the chip set of your MB

It should work, unless you have a BAD SSD

It was already on Marvell so i dont see any dif.
In my BIOS its all in IDE mode(i can take a picture if u need), if i remember well when i try to put on AHCI the pc doesnt boot up but i will try again.
MB MSI P67A-GD65 (B3) - Can u show me what drive i should download??Just to make sure caus i probably already have it installed

Ah, that is why it slows - IDE mode in BIOS.
When you change to AHCI, your system will not boot, that is normal.
you need to change/add the windows registry to include AHCI protocol. There is plenty of post in this forum about change IDE to AHCI
I will look and post it later

Ok, im sooooo sorry, i double checked my SATAs and yes, the Neutron was connected on the Marvell, now i changed and crystalmarked it and its fine. Im so sorry but i still got one problem left if u wanna help me. The sata port of the ssd is now the HDD 3tb seagate and now this HDD show as SCSI removable, how can i make it normal?

PS/ Why everyone talks about ssd/hdd with os needs to be AHCI is there any real benefit??

Any single SSD usage should be connect as AHCI, which is compliance to SATA's spec including II, and III rev.
It takes full advantage of NCQ, aggregation, FIFO and bunch of enhance features that SATAIII offer, where IDE/PATA does not have.

You can not remove the SCSI part, cuz SATA command set is a subset of SCSI, it wont hurt the performance at all.

Just make sure your SATA III/II device is correctly connected, avoid IDE/Compatible/Legacy... in the BIOS, then you are fine

Try this:

1. Startup "Regedit"
2. Open HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE / SYSTEM / CurrentControlset / Services
3. Open msahci
4. In the right field left click on "start" and go to Modify
5. In the value Data field enter "0" and click "ok"
6. exit "Regedit"
7. Reboot the system and enter BIOS
8. In your BIOS change SATA Mode to AHCI.

You now boot into windows 7, the OS will recognize AHCI and install the devices. Now the system needs one more reboot
Enjoy the improved SSD performance.

I did exactly that and the system didnt booted, in BIOS when i change the IDE to AHCI it gives me 6sata ports to Hostswap, but i let it all disabled, do you think i need to enable the Hotswap in order for the AHCI to work???

I cant, cause if u change to the marvell port i will slow my ssd like before

Ps/ When i change to AHCI on the BIOS it change my 1st boot to the HDD which is absent of os, and its connected to marvell(dont know if it has any relations).

Ps2/ When i try to install 3 drivers related to AHCI
Intel Smart Connect Technology Driver
Intel Rapid Storage Technology Driver
Intel Rapid Start Technology Driver for 6x Series

All 3 say unsupported hardware or something like that.

P3/ And there is this Intel Rapid Storage Technology Floppy Driver (F6), which i didnt install cause Floppy doesnt seem to do anything here

After the change... Make sure the BIOS boot section pointing as your OS drives. Change it if need be.
When you say it not boot once BIOS in AHCI, what exactly the problem
Can not boot - just black screen, BSoD, MS logo show up and reboot itself? please describe more detail

try this:
Let it boot as normal - confirm it by let it boot - Shut down
Move the OS HDD to Marvell port (just physically move the SATA cable) - reboot, make sure the BIOS pick up the right HDD
It should boot. Confirm, shut down
Change the BIOS to AHCI - reboot
Once it boots let it update the Drivers, shut down
Move the OS SSD back to intel SATA port - Reboot
