Hello!

I've bought the logitech z906 5.1 system and it "works" when i plug it in etc, i hear sound from all speakers except, it's doing 2.1 sound so the "surround" isn't working correctly, same audio stream through all channels... And i plug it in with "Green, Orange, Black" (3x3.5mm) cable wich followed with the system.

The thing is i've tried to set it to "5.1" in sound options and when i press "test" it should only play first Left & then right then rear left etc.. But it plays in all speakers when it should only do like "left"... I use the on-board soundcard on my motherboard (GA-970-UD3) and i have "Vi HD audio deck" and it's set to "6" channels there aswell. When i plug it in i chose like "front speakers" then plug in orange and choose "center / sub" and black "rear speakers".

Example: When i play a vlc movie with 5.1 sound and choose 5.1 in vlc it does work in all speakers BUT like the dialogues aren't there in some scenes probaly since it should be using the 5.1 system then but it isn't working properly.

I've searched for hours for an soloution but haven't found one and yes i have installed all the lastest drivers.

Windows 7 x64

Thanks in advance

I would use the digital optical connection. I believe the red green black is analog.

The Z906 uses DTS Digital Sound/Dolby Digital decoding to process data into 5.1 surround
sound. If the Z906 receives neither DTS Digital Sound nor Dolby Digital decoding data, the Z906
will not be able to decode the signal. You can resolve this issue by making sure the Z906 receives
only a DTS Digital Sound or Dolby Digital signal from the host device (for example, DVD/Blu-ray
player, game console, or home computer). Please refer to your equipment manufacturer’s support
documentation for additional details.

Not all audio content you play through your Z906 speakers will be in surround sound format.

Examples of content that may not be in surround sound format include some:

Movies streamed through online streaming services
Cable or satellite television content
Video game content
DVD discs
In the instances where audio content is not in surround sound format, your Z906 is actually being streamed stereo audio content, which simulates surround sound.

Your Z906 has three (3) simulated surround sound settings:

2.1 - Front speakers play audio. Subwoofer is active. Center and Rear speakers are off.
4.1 - Front/Main Left audio is duplicated to the Rear Left. Front/Main Right audio is duplicated to the Rear Right. Subwoofer is active. Center speaker is off.
3D - Simulates a 5.1 surround sound experience. All speakers have independent content and the subwoofer is active.

ok i looked again at a pic of the recon3d of it and it should have come with an optical cable but i dont know how you would hook up the speakers to it. I would try just getting an optical cable to run from mobo to speakers
