Hey I have seemed to have lost my Windows 7 Home Disk for my Build and need to restore I know there is a way to download it legally via digital river but I`m OCD when it comes to it being 100% perfect. I have a Dell Windows 7 Disk I know the Dell Disks are NOT computer specific so I know it will work but would it be better since its a Disk that was properly made? Any different between it and downloading it from digital river? I will be using my Win7 Home Key so its all legal. I do know that the dell disk does put the Dell Logo under the About System page but thats about it.

Often OEM key's like Dell, HP, etc, don't work with a normal version of Windows and vice versa. Fixing systems, I sometimes have to hunt down a copy of a Dell or HP Windows to use as their key won't work with a normal copy. Just download one from digital river. There is no difference. You can even use the Win7toUSB tool, copy the ISO to a USB key using that tool, and install Windows about 1/3rd of the time a disc would take anyways. Win 7 or 8 over a USB key, rocks.

You can't be that OCD if you lost your disc, a true OCD would know where the disc was. lol.
