1600Mhz memory with a Celeron G550

Building a low-level comp that I eventually plan to upgrade when I can afford it. Went with an 1155 socket MB that can handle up to i7 but starting with a cheap G550.

The question is on the memory... The G550 specs say it can only handle 1066Mhz memory.

Would it choke if I bought, say, 1600Mhz memory (in anticipation of later CPU upgrade where I'd rather not have to buy better memory later)?

I know the G550 won't be able to take advantage of the extra speed, but would it be able to use that 1600Mhz memory at 1066Mhz speed, or is there any fundamental reasons why it wouldn't be able to handle the memory at all?

If your building a low-level comp that you eventually plan to upgrade I would go with AMD so you can get better now and then if you get to where you want to go higher end switch to intel.

With my seriously limited budget, I'd rather not have to replace the motherboard unless it actually dies. Thus choosing the 1155 socket, the mobo can fit that i3/i5/i7 CPU when I can afford them.

(With my needs, an i7 would be a waste to get at this point. But needs change and I may find I need one later. If I do, I'll have a mobo that can handle it. And the i7 will be "that slow model" by then and much cheaper, hehe.)

If thats the way you want to go, then by all means do it.
