Hi,

A few weeks ago I was trying to download a game but computer said i had no more space. (BTW I am using windows 8)I dint think that could be right because I hadn't had my computer for very long. (I had a WD 1T and a 120gb ssd). I checked my disk management and it said that only my ssd was allocated and my hard drive wasn't allocated so it had nothing on it. I then allocated it but when i tried to download the game again, it said it was full. i'm guessing its because the ssd was marked as the main drive (C). Not knowing much about things like this then, I accidentally marked my hard drive active. So now my computer wouldn't even open due to the fact that both of my drives were marked active. I removed the hard drive and got my computer working again but my ssd is completely filled up now. So i need to wipe my hard drive or get a new one. (i have no clue how to wipe it). I also don't know how to set up a hard drive. do i have to make it primary for things to automatically download to it??? Any help would be great.

Thank You,
John

Marking the drive as active would not have caused this, and there was already a problem with the disk before you got involved with disk management.

Data Lifegaurd Diagnostics for DOS is a boot disk that will boot your computer up and scan the drive for problems This is the official drive utility for Western Digital drives:

System Rescue CD includes an application called Testdisk that may restore the drive to its previous useful state, if not there is also another included app called photorec to recover data from the drive so that it may be reformatted and hopefully put back to use.

For Windows there is also SpeedFan which can check the hard...
