So I'm upgrading from my 6-7 year old desktop that I build for gaming and while it was new was a huge beast but is now dying.

Here's what I have built in my Newegg cart and I'm pretty happy with it but before I make the purchase I wanted some opinions on it!

NOTE: I will be using this for high end gaming and want to be able to run all current fps/rpgs at ultra (max) settings as well as being "future-proof" for a little while.

Mobo: Asus Maximus VI Hero Z87

CPU: Intel i7 4770K 3.5GHz Haswell Quad Core

GPU: EVGA GTX 780

RAM: 16 gb (2x8gb) G.Skill TridentX 2400 MHz

Samsung 840 Pro 512 gb SSD

Rosewill Fortress 750 watt PSU

Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo CPU Cooler

Cooler Master HAF X Black Steel/ Plastic ATX Full Tower

Windows 8 64-bit

Let me know any changes or input you might have, thanks so much!

well you can get the 2G one in SLI , thats 770$ (2x385) total. but is not good for 3 monitors setup .. you need more ram for 3 monitors.

or you can get less expensive case than the HAFX

Well, I know Metro (the tablet portion of 8) sucks, but I Just bypass that with a program that skips Metro on startup and adds the start menu back. Windows 8 is faster than 7 anyways isn't it? Besides Metro I think it's better.

Hi,

some better choices :

1- Get 2x 256 GB Samsung 840 pro and use them in Raid 0 , you will get 1G/sec performance and it is good and the same price. you will be ending up with a 512 SSD with double the speed.

2-If you can afford it , get 2x GTX 770 in SLI , instead of one 780 , and be sure it is the 4G version not the 2 G

if you cant , stay with GTX 780 .

Ah ok, well I already have the 512 SSD from my recording/mixing (audio) computer that I'll be using =(

As for the SLI GTX 770 both being 4gb, that would run more than 1k on Newegg, wouldn't getting the GTX Titan be better at that point? I'm not sure if I can afford that, the GTX 780 is already more than I should spend haha
