Hi,

A few weeks ago I was trying to download a game but computer said i had no more space. (BTW I am using windows 8)I dint think that could be right because I hadn't had my computer for very long. (I had a WD 1T and a 120gb ssd). I checked my disk management and it said that only my ssd was allocated and my hard drive wasn't allocated so it had nothing on it. I then allocated it but when i tried to download the game again, it said it was full. i'm guessing its because the ssd was marked as the main drive (C). Not knowing much about things like this then, I accidentally marked my hard drive active. So now my computer wouldn't even open due to the fact that both of my drives were marked active. I removed the hard drive and got my computer working again but my ssd is completely filled up now. So i need to wipe my hard drive or get a new one. (i have no clue how to wipe it). I also don't know how to set up a hard drive. do i have to make it primary for things to automatically download to it??? Any help would be great.

Thank You,
John

ok. several issues.

SSDs don't handle being filled up well, frankly you can break them or lower their lifespan by doing this. So in the future you're going to have to learn to manage your disk space a lot better if you don't want to destroy your SSD.

Windows 7/8 defaults all downloads to the Download folder which is on your system drive "c:". you have to set up a seperate drive for downloads specifically EVERY time you download something, some programs allow you to specify where you want to default download to. learn everything you use and how to set those settings up. simply assume everything is being downloaded to the windows download folder unless otherwise stated.

Windows 7/8 installs everything by default to the system drive "c:", again, just like with downloads, whenever you install anything, assume its being installed to c:, go into advanced settings on EVERY SINGLE install and insure it's going to the drive you desire. Don't worry, it will work just fine if it's not being installed to "C:".

go to disk management. chose your 1tb drive, and change ownership to windows 7 and grant you full system access, also give it a drive letter "d:", so that it's fully accessible.
