I have a portable drive that has contained some important files. However, all of sudden, these files become inaccessible. Disconnect it and only received a message saying: “The drive is not formatted. Do you want to format it now?”
But, I cannot format it since I don’t want to lose all the files there. Is there any way to fix this?

Yes! I also think a third party data recovery program is needed to restore the inaccessible data back before the formatting.
The formatting process may make things messed up and increase the difficulty of complete data recovery.
Moreover, you also need put much attention to select a most proper data recovery program to your unformatted drive.

If you have no much money for this, you could choose a free data recovery program like this:

Of course, if you have enough money for this, you may ask for some professional company or expert for help.

OK! This is my answer. I hope you could learn a lesson to back up everything important from now on.
