So, thanks to the friendly people here at Tom's i've decided that the best cpu upgrade for my money will be the 3930k (coming from first gen i7). This is for maximum thread and speed, for 3d graphic renderings.

Anyways, i'm already pushing $900 for my new mobo and CPU. The next question is cooling, since i plan to be OCing my new upgrades.

As i've learned over the past hour or so of research, i can either cool via push/pull system (most simple and risk free) or a reservoir (complex, more room for error and pretty)

So, i think, because its more about performance than it is enthusiast i will be using a push/pull (unless someone can shed more light for me). With this said, i'm wondering if anyone can point me in a direction for a reliable case to achieve this.

My budget is limited, but i want at least a reputable brand. So, a cheap name brand case is what i need help finding. I dont have a lot of hardware (1 gpu, 1 hd, etc) and can take some fans from my current case and put them in the new case (i think they're all 120mm).

I would also like to point out my PSU is not modular and so cable management is highly desired!!!

This is looking like a wall of text, so i'll end it here. Thanks a lot guys.

I assume your referring to an air heatsink and water-cooling system?
A proper custom water loop will actually far outperform air, though it does come with the downsides (and advantages) you mentioned.

But anyway, something like a Noctua NH-D14 I think will serve you fine. Just about the best cooler you can get while sticking with air.

As for case, thats largely personal preference as you obviously have to like the look of it. I'l drop a couple of cases, see which one you like.

i'm sorry i must have caused confusion in my original post. What you linked looks like what im not going for -- ha! I was considering something like this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835209049 which i believe is a closed loop water, correct? I also am a huge fan of how not bulky it is.

Looking at those cases, i find these two to be most appealing to me:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811139008

now, the corsair looks like its fitted for a top radiator. Would that mean i could get something like: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835181032 and it would fit better up top? With the other liquid cooler i linked, it seems to take up more volume (though its one fan -- just the way it fits).

Thanks for your help so far, chalk!!!
