Installed Windows 7 from USB on SSD upgrade, but WIN doesn't look like the version I had

Hi, so I replaced a corrupt HHD with a Samsung SSD and installed a windows 7 iso from a USB, using the product key from my notebook that came with win 7 pre installed.

It worked but Windows looks strange, almost as if the graphics are more rudimentary than before. This is true of the whole appearance, the desktop, start menus, etc. and true for video played in media center.

Can anyone please advise me on what went wrong?

Also, there is no MS word starter that came with my original Windows... How would I get the version that includes that? Shouldn't I be able to since that's what I originally owned?

Any info would be appreciated. Thanks.

As far as Microsoft Word no because it was included as part of the OEM package that was installed what you have installed now is just the default version of Windows that is not customized by your OEM provider. In order to get that you would have had to either install it from the backup partition or the set of Restore DVD's that you should have made the first time you used the computer.

As far as the way Windows 7 looks do you have the drivers installed for your GPU? To me that is what it sounds like you have not installed all of the needed drivers. Go to your manufactures Website and then find the model of laptop and download the need drivers and install that should take care of that. If you want all of the crapwere that came...

Its just a customized setting that got changed for some reason, just open up your personalization options, I think by right clicking your desktop and clicking the personalization tab. Then just go in and change it to how you like. If this isn't it windows changed your theme to be more system resource saving

Thanks for the advice. I have not downloaded any drivers. Honestly I'm kind of learning as I go here and didn't realize I had to do that. I will try to find them on the Acer website.

The model I have is an Acer Aspire One 722-0022 P1VE6
