My name is yaser. I've similar problem like nani455. In my case it is Disk 1 and dark blue color band above volume and it shows 465.73 Basic online but nothing is appearing in upper view window like what type of partition

Solution
Try this, plug in the HDD, bring up CMD, and type chkdsk X: /f/r (X is the drive letter, yours may be different). I think the file system got corrupted.

If so than this command will repair it. Or, try a data recovery software, with that recover your data than format the HDD. Free and decent.

Hi lonewolf7

The External Hard disk is Western Digital My Passport 500GB. The problem is when I connect the USB cable of this Hard disk to any computer it gives a sound click and detected but Format message appears. Also it is shown in Disk Management with Blue color as Disk 1 but no information regarding which type of partition and drive letter. Only it is shown 465.73 Gb and Online and Basic
