FX 8320 high temperatures and performance issues

Here is my computer:
-FX 8320 Black Edition STOCK (3.5 GHz, 3.7 Ghz turbo)
-Cooler Master Hyper TX3 cooler (i used the cooler master Thermal Paste) with stock fan
-Cooler Master Strike X 600W
-AMD Shappire 7870 Ghz
-Asrock 970 Extreme 4
-Case: Nox Coolbay SX Debil (with the 2 chassis fans it includes, front and back)

My FX 8320 gets about 25-30º idle, but when i play games it gets more than 60º (its at 3.7 ghz while playing) so it downclock it self at 62º to 1.4 Ghz for few seconds for get lower temperature. This give me 10 fps in the game everytime the processor gets 62º (every minute), so its very annoying.
I reaplied the thermal paste, but its still too hot.

I had to downclock my FX 8320 from 3.7 Ghz (turbo stock) to 3.5 Ghz (i disabled the turbo). Now i get 55º while playing, but the processor is downclocked, i cant have a processor WORSE than stock! Even when i have an aftermarket cooler!
And even downclocked to 3.5 Ghz if i play a cpu test estability (to force the cpu to 100%) it gets again 62º and downclock to 1.4 ghz.

What is wrong with my computer/processor? How can i play games with a 3.7 Ghz Fx 8320 or OC it with no issues?

Hyper TX3 cooler is a low end cooler, just slightly better then fx class stock cooler..
and 8320 is a power hog, means lot of the power will translate to heat..
Hyper TX3 just handle core2duo and athlon heat level very well..but, more than that..mmm.. i don't think so..

Get better cooler..Cooler Master Hyper 212+ is only $19.99 @ Newegg, and it's much much better than tx3..

When running prime95 CPU gets 62º, downlock to 1.4 ghz for few seconds, and again gets 62º and downclock all the time
I dont understand why a downclocked CPU gets too hot with an aftermarket cooler

10 at load. atleast (?)

if you still have the stock cooler, try using it and see if it works at it is standard . it should work. otherwise you should just are for replacement

i mean CM 212+, not 212 evo version.

cm 212 evo just 1'c-2'c cooler than original cm 212+ but more pricey. $14 for 2'c difference is not worthed..

i've upgrade from ocz vedetta original (which is better than tx3 around 3-5'c) to cm 212+, and i get 7-10'c lower temperature.

so, for best scenario (for example: dual fan, push and pull at maximum speed), you'll get 15'c lower temperature with cm 212+ (at full load), than your current cooler..

I just installed my new Hyper 212 Evo (i coulnd find the 212+) and i get
Bios temperatures: -using Hyper TX3 70º -using Hyper 212 53º
Idle temperature: -TX3: 25-30º -Hyper 212: 21º
CPU stability test: Using the TX3 the cpu got 62º fast and then it underclocked to 1.7 GHz (and i underclocked the cpu to 3.5 Ghz), so it gets more than 62º (maybe, without underclock, it would get the 70º the bios says)
Using the Hyper 212 (cpu at 3.7 Ghz) 53º

I think the Hyper 212 solved the problem. Thanks!

Try to update your bios with the latest version.
make sure your windows power option set to High performance, and your processor power management- system cooling policy in passive state..
also try to reseat your CPU

it should be work..

Tip #1
Disable

AMD Turbo Core Technology
APM (Application Power Management) *disabling the AMD Turbo Core Technology via AMD OverDrive utility will also disable APM)*
Cool ‘n’ Quiet *I actually keep this enabled so I don't waste power since high clocks aren't needed under low loads*
CPU Thermal Throttle *be careful keep an eye on your temps, especially core temps, leave this enabled if your not the cautious type* (FX-8120 < 61C, FX-8150 <61C, FX-6100 <70C, FX 4100 <71C)
Core C6 State
C1E
Enhanced Halt State
Any other Power Saving Features in your bios, usually under CPU Advanced, Google them first.


Enable

Load Line Calibration, play with this setting until you get stable voltages under load, remeber every bios is different, some might even be better with it disabled, but most best enabled and manually set.


Notes
*Ensure that CPU NB, Memory or HT Link values are running at default stable values.*
*CPU / Chasis Fan Control (set to full speed for best cooling, if too loud play with the manual speeds.)

Tip #2.
Get AMD Overdrive and Open and Enable Turbo Core Control then Push OK then Open and Disable Turbo Core Control then push OK then exit AMD Overdrive.


Now test see if it still throttles. If this works then is most likely a bios issue, and you'll have to do this each time you restart.

Tip #3
Also check your mosfet temperature..you can touch it with your finger..
If it happens, put small fan on top of your mosfet heatsink cooler.
Some motherboard will throttle in hard load due to mosfet protection heat..

Tip #4
if all above is not working, then rma your processor.. :D

Yeah, in your picture with red circle marker, that's your mobo vrm/mosfet..
That's Asrock 970 extreme series weakness..this mobo is usually hot in that area..but actually not really hot. you still can touch it with your finger.

And how hot your mosfet heatsink..?
you can use hwmonitor/coretemp/aida to check your mosfet temp

I can guarantee you the problem is related to the motherboard. Without even knowing, I'd be willing to bet it has 4+1 phases?
It downclocks due to the VRM getting hot. Try to cool them or get a motherboard with more phases/better VRM heatsinks.
