Anyone know if 1440p monitors will reach a lower response time than 5ms?

At this time I can only find 1440p monitors at 5ms the fastest know of any that might be faster or may be made faster down the near future. Like next year maybe LOL! Right now the fastest response time is the Asus' monitors at 1ms and only the 1 24" monitor has a rapid refresh of 144Hz. I really want to bump up to a new resolution sometime soon.

Right now 5ms is the best you will get with any IPS I believe. I have a 6.5ms 2560x1440 monitor and don't notice any input lag. You're supposed to be able to "overclock" some of the Korean panels from 60 Hz up to ~90-100 Hz. I can't say how well that works or not though.

Holy cow I had no clue you can overclock a monitor LOL!
Well that answers my question dang well I hope that I can pick up a good 1440p sometime soon hows the resolution is it as nice as people say like once you go 1440 you never want to go back kind of thing?!

It's great. It looks massive at first, but now I'm so used to it that every other monitor looks tiny. There are a few quirks, I think due to the internal scaling with my monitor, but I figured out a few workarounds so it doesn't bother me any more. If you do get one and want to know ahead of time how to get around games launching to a black screen I have a few tricks. I definitely recommend having a second monitor with it for that reason.

So sometimes one works and sometimes the other. If the game has a launcher that lets you change video settings before launching then you don't need to do either of these:

1.) Add "-window" to the launch options in Steam or in target in the .exe properties at the end of the file path. This will launch in a window, obviously, and shouldn't launch to a black screen. Change your video settings in game then once you exit it you can remove the -window.

2.) Right click the .exe > properties > compatibility> disable desktop composition. This will force windows into basic mode before it launches. I found it to work sometimes, Dead Island for example. If this trick works you will have to use it every time you run the game. I think this is when dual monitors are causing the bug, but that's just a hunch.

I hope that helps. I'd like to hear how you like that Asus.
