New build; using old processor until new one arrives?

So, I just ordered all of the parts for my new build.
Using the Gigabyte 78LMT motherboard, my old processor is the AMD Athlon X2, new one will be the Phenom 965. (budget build)

My question is; I have every single part except for the new processor. If I put it together and use the old processor in the meantime, will it be a simple "out with the old, in with the new," or will I have to update / reset the bios, etc?

TLDR: Is it worth it building my new computer & swapping out processors when the new one arrives?

there is a chance that you would need to reinstall windows. not really sure if this would happen on windows 8 though if you are using that.

you just put the processor in the mobo and get it goin and put 965 when it arrive
there will be no issues
yeah it would be a great upgrade but i wish u would have ordered a fx 4100

Bahah, I do too man. The budget simply didn't allow it though.

I'll be upgrading within the year though, I guess you could call the 965 a placeholder.

ps; I made the last thread a discussion so I couldn't choose you as best!
