My P5W-DH Deluxe motherboard wont POST but the power light is on.. is the board dead. what should i do? please help. I replaced the cpu ram hdd cd/dvd driveand cpu heatsink and followed the instructcions for clearing the cmos jumpers. nothing worked. i get the motherboard power indicator light and the light on my optical mouse illuminated but thats all. no fans no hdd's spinning. is the board toast. or is there someway to fix it. don't worry. i'm game for a tough challenge when it comes to my gaming rigs;)

The light only indicates +5V standby is available. I can't figure out why you replaced the CPU, but you should disconnect all other components instead of replacing them. Have you tried a different PSU or at least used the paperclip test and verified that all voltages are within specs with a DVM? If the PSU is good, then check for buldged caps on the motherboard, but those motherboards had good quality caps.

Edit: Have you replaced the GPU just in case it's defective? You wrote taht it doesn't POST; does that mean that it powers up just fine?

Read my edit and let us know exactly what happens. Anything is displayed on the monitor?

No fans no hard drives spinning. You have eliminated everything (gpu, ram, cpu etc etc)
The only thing I can think of is a faulty cpu fan stopping the board from posting so as to protect the cpu. If there are no beeps from the speaker to warn you what the problem is, I think its worse than that he's Dead Jim.

Mine still POST with the fan not spinning or disconnected (as do my other motherboards). Look elsewhere like a faulty PSU or motherboard.
