i have installed msi afterburner and there is two options i can control, core clock and memory clock.i am wondering what if i tune them to maximum speed is this affects gpu temperature.and if i do that can i increase my gpu s gaming performance.i am using a laptop and i dont want to burn it.
NVİDİA GEFORCE GT 320M
current core clock is 500 mhz max is 650 mhz
current memory clock is 790 mhz max is 1030 mhz ?????

Solution
Hi,

A laptop is just not made for gaming
(unless you buy one at 1200$ +, but even then compare to a tower, it just won't cut it)

I don't recommend overclocking a laptop gpu because the cooling system is lacking.
If you do it, your just asking for trouble.

Also, even if you overclock the 320m, it's just a weak card for gaming, you won't be able to play any modern games even at lowest resolution

When overclocking any component you should always monitor the temps closely.
Overclocking absolutely will increase the operating temps.
Do not just crank everything to full, this can be a quick way to kill your hardware.
The perceived best way to Overclock a GPU is to start with the Memory and go up in 5-19 mhz steps testing for stability as you go until you crash or the temps get too high then restart (if its crashed)and back it off 5-10 mhz.
Follow that with the same for the core.
You will the have your best stable overclock.
