Hi guys,

I just got a new pc, when I thought I was done and tried booting it up, it didn't give any beeps nor POST, it just keeps rebooting.

The only thing I currently have connected are the:

CPU, Intel® Core™ i5-4670K

CPU Cooler, Scythe Mugen 3 Rev.B PCGH-Edition

Motherboard, GIGABYTE GA-Z87X-D3H

with the 8-pin CPU connector and 24-pin connector.

I have the "HD Audio" connector in the "audio" socket on the motherboard, so I guess I'm not being stupid not hearing the beeps.

I've tried reconnecting everything, removing the RAM (which resulted in no change). I'm hoping for some advice, meanwhile I'll try setting everything up without the case, as I've heard the motherboard can be influenced by metal it comes in contact with.

Help would be much appreciated!

Solution
Yes, start it outside the case for ruling out a short. Leave only CPU and CPU fan installed. Check if the CPU fan is spinning when starting the board.
