about four months ago i built a new system and it doesn't seem to perform as well as i was expecting specs are as follows amd fx 6100 Zambezi msi 970a-g46 motherboard nvidia gtx 650 non ti 8gb of pny ddr3 1600 ram ocz elite xstream 800 watt power supply 400gb western digital hard drive battlefield 3 is where it performs poorly even on lower settings i get lag and its a bit jumpy while moving around gta 4 also is jumpy and lags at times all drivers are up to date along with bios windows is also up to date any insight into these problems is greatly appreciated and thanks go out in advance to anyone that can help

Your specs look fine with the exception of the 400GB WD hard drive. Is that an old SATA I Caviar drive? Speeds with this storage will be far less than desirable and could be explaining part / all of your problem. This would be the first place I would focus... Download a trial version of HDTune (or other program) and test your soeeds. For comparison, a new 1TB drive should see around 140 MB reads / writes.

This is my thought as well. Plenty of power there to run at low / medium. Would expect problems past this point though...

Bump the settings down a bit. Just so you know, I have a 7870 and I can play BF3 on ultra. So if you were interested in a cheaper card that can play games well, a 7870 is a good option.
