Hi

My four year old PC is living its last moments so I've decided to build a new one, I haven't been keeping up-to-date with whats going on but from light researching and advice from my 'tech' friends I've come up with this rig:

Zalman Z9 Plus Tower Case
Intel Core i5-3570K 3.40GHz (Ivybridge) Socket LGA1155 Processor
Prolimatech Panther CPU Cooler
Kingston HyperX Beast 8GB DDR3 Kit Ram (240-dimm)
Samsung SSD 840 Series 120GB
Corsair Builder Series CX750 750 Watt ATX 2.3
ASUS GeForce GTX670-DC2-2GD5 2GB

Now, the total bill of the above system runs up to 950 euros, I'm mainly going to use this system for HD movies, multi - tasking (I often run football manager while watching a movie/series or umm, working! hehe), and some casual high-end gaming (battlefield 3 and eventually battlefield 4)

The only thing I'm going to salvage from my old pc is the 1tb hdd.

I'm still a little unsure regarding the graphic card and PSU. Regarding the graphic card I'm a little skeptical because the GTX 770 is only like 50 euros more than the one I picked and I would like any of your suggestions/thoughts regarding this issue

With regards to the PSU, well, the main reason I went for the corsair builder series is because I HATE loads of unused cables in my tower and from what I've read this PSU gives you the option to detach any of the unused cables, but I still feel like I'm getting way too much wattage for my system (I'm not planning on using an SLI system, many have told me that SLI is not really a must for casual gaming).

Well I guess that's it from me, any help/comments are greatly appreciated, if you think I can swap a component for something that's cheaper but performs equally I welcome it, if you have a better rig set up keeping in mind the 950 euro limit I welcome it!

thanks in advance

Is there a reason you are going for a ivy bridge processor and a 600 serie nvidia card? You should change your processor in the current haswell processor and your gpu in 700 serie.
I think you can get a 650 w psu because is more than enough, and i would go with a seasonic psu because it's a OEM.
Also about the Gpu i don't know which games you play but if you are a hardcore gamer i would go with the 770 for 50 more.
I hope i helped you :)

no specific reason apart from the price, the haswell processors from my usual parts website were about 100 euros more expensive

Keep in mind you are saving 100 euro for a year old cpu. It's up to you but my advise is spend that extra 100 euro for a better cpu and try to save that on other parts like your gpu and go with the 600 serie. I hope i helped you so far.

ok, slight update, up late doing some researching based on neusbotje's comments so far, i've decided to swap the following:

ASUS GeForce GTX670-DC2-2GD5 2GB with Gigabyte GeForce GTX760 2GB DDR5 Rev. 2.0

Intel Core i5-3570K 3.40GHz (Ivybridge) Socket LGA1155 Processor with Intel Core i5-4670

MSI Z77A-G43 (which i just realised i forgot to put into the original post, woops!) with MSI Z87-GD65 GAMING

Taking the advise of the above poster i've decided to swap the Ivybridge CPU with a Haswell CPU and a slightly better motherboard than the one i had originally picked out.

Planning to place the order next week so any helpful thoughts are greatly appreciated!
