Older system needs a new video card (GeForce 8500GT)

I have an older system with an old card (GeForce 8500 GT 256MB) and I'd like to upgrade the video card only. Don't laugh.

Specs:

Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 @ 2.4 GHz
3 GB DDR2 RAM
PSU: 400W (+12V1 / 16A, +12V2 / 16A, combined +12 cannot exceed 30A)
Vista Home Ultimate
One PCI-e (I assume 1.0) slot, currently occupied by the 8500

I know that I need to upgrade everything if I'm really serious. But I'd like to play a little Skyrim (yes, I'm late to the party) and have it look better than it currently does. The machine is used for little else other than storing pictures and music and such.

My question is on recommended cards. I know I have enough power to upgrade, but I also know that time has passed me by. Many of the cards that are better than mine are kind of hard to find. And if I do find them, they are all $50+.

Any suggestions?

Solution
You could need a low end GPU, GT 430 maybe can be a perfect option for you since doesn´t need PSU and the performance is good. Something a little better would be a GT 630 or GT 640 that are one of the last generation.

Just to wrap this up, I did go with a GeForce GT 430 (Galaxy). I found it on Amazon and it arrived today. Install was super-easy, driver installed with no problems, and the graphics upgrade was massive (High settings on Skyrim with pretty crisp action). So this was definitely the right solution for me. Thanks.
