Build worked fine for about a month, then crashed suddenly and won't run

So about a month ago I built my first computer(ASRock Z77 Extreme4 motherboard, Asus GTX 660 Ti, 8Gbs Ram, 1 TB WD Black, Intel i5 3570k) and it was working wonderfully up until today, today my graphics card crashed 4 times(error message said that the response timed out) and then the computer just crashed. It has power flowing through it because when I turn it on 2 of the 6 case fans start, but that leaves 4 not working. And there is no display output to the monitor whether the HDMI cable is connected to the GPU or the Motherboard. The CPU fan doesn't start and neither do the GPU fans. I can turn it on using the front button but it won't turn off that way, have to turn off the power supply to turn off the computer. Everything had been running fine up until this point, i don't know what's wrong or where to even start. Thanks in advance.

Does seem like a general power failure. Are those 4 fans that don't spin connected to the motherboard?

As a first step, remove everything from the computer except the motherboard, chip, and power supply to rule out any bad components causing a short.

If you have a split rail power supply one of the rails may have blown (safety circuit kicked in) and would explain why parts of it are running. Or you've perhaps lost all 12V and only the 5V stuff is running properly.

If you have a volt-meter handy, check the voltages coming out of the power supply, both connected and not connected to the rest of the system. (google "paperclip method" and the pin out for the ATX connector)

Of course the motherboard could have failed, but that is harder...
Hi,

What is your power supply ?

I turn it on 2 of the 6 case fans start, but that leaves 4 not working.
If the fan are plug in the mobo, i suspect mobo failure, if plug in psu, psu failure.

I can turn it on using the front button but it won't turn off that way, have to turn off the power supply to turn off the computer. Everything had been running fine up until this point, i don't know what's wrong or where to even start. Thanks in advance.
Again: suspecting PSU as bad. Try with a known working psu.
Did you overclock your rig ?

Of course the motherboard could have failed, but that is harder to test unless you have other components to try.

The fans that do work are connected straight to the PSU(Corsair Builder Series 600W) and yes I overclocked from 3.8 to 4.0 Ghz just to get a feel for overclocking. So I should see if I can return the motherboard?
