Approximate Purchase Date: Mid August, 2013

Budget Range: $2,100

System Usage: Gaming and streaming

Do you need to buy OS: No

Location:United States

Overclocking: Yes

Additional Comments: I am currently planning on playing games such as Crysis 3, Battlefield, Far cry. MMORPGs, and a lot of the new games coming out in the next 2-3 years. As stated above, my budget is about $2, 100 and that's not including a monitor. I would like to get an idea of a build i can get rather than using a website such as ibuypower to purchase the new PC. If i can get some ideas and feedback on partpicker.com. i would appreciate it a lot. Like i said before, i had been looking at ibuypower.com, so i do not know where to start since i am choosing to purchasing parts separately.

Thank you

Solution
Well there is a couple questions i have for ya? are you playing at 1080p or a higher resolution? Are you wanting to play games at max settings or is lower settings ok with you? How long do you intend to keep this build? Are you going to be doing any video editing? i know you stated that you want to stream if you are streaming BF3 or something higher your FPS will take a huge hit and an i5 will lack in that department.

My personal recommendation is:
i7 4770k
h100i or h110 and good fans
MSI Z87 GD65 motherboard
Corsair 650D ( great case that looks elegant and will last a LONG time until your next build)
16gb DDR3 1866 ram or 8gb if not doing any editing
Samsung, intel or Plextor SSD i prefer a 250gb one but you can get a smaller one
2x...

OK, lets start.

Step zero, why do you not need an OS?

Parts,
The newest thing for gaming is the new NVidia GTX 700 series. You would probably like the GTX 770. Go with Haswell i5 4670k, and z87 mobo of your choice. Asus is a good brand. Skip SLi. Get a good midtower case. You want what you think looks good with good reviews. If you don't know this, list the cases you think look good. I'll research it for you. Buy a 750W 80+ Gold PSU. Buy 8 gigs of DDR3 1600 RAM. Get an entry level SSD. Gaming is not going to take advantage of fast SSDs. Example, Plextor M5S. Get a secondary Hard drive. WD Black 2 TB should be cool. Hyper 212 EVO CPU cooler is nice.

If you get money left over, pocket it. Any more money will not be efficiently used, unless it is for cooling for overclocking.

For that I recommend a good water cooler such as a Corsair H100i, and high quality fans.

This is going to be an epic build. Once completed please participate in this.

2x MSI GTX 770 gaming ( since you will be streaming and playing demanding games)
Corsair HX850 PSU

Something along those lines for streaming, gaming and editing. And will last a few years.

id get this. just remember by august, most of the components will be swapped out due to prices that change every week

as for the build above me

-a i7 wont improve your streaming. Given your board has a good killer nic or a intel nic on the board i chose, they will easily handle the streaming traffic without having to use any CPU resources
-if you are going to recommend a liquid cooler, dont recommend the crappy coolit and asetek
-the 650D in my opinion is pretty bad. friend has one and its distractingly loud. for much cheaper you get better quality with fractal
-fast ram is useless
-you dont need 2 cards for 1080p unless you are running a 120hz panel. streaming does not hit your GPU
-SLI 770s do not require that power even if you overclock

A case is but the box everything stays in. I would recommend the Corsair 300r, and good fans.

The fractal is good, but expensive.

That cooler is overkill, and the price of entry level water.

There is a Newegg $80 combo discount with i5 and MSI board

Just to clarify, i will be gaming mostly. Very limited video editing and streaming. It's mostly me just gaming and an occasional stream here and there

-the fractal is half the price of a 650D which is less than or equal to the fractal
-a hyper 212 evo will not cope with haswell overclocking whatsoever. if you were to get a entry level watercooler, you are buying yourself a fancy hyper 212 evo.
-the fractal is miles better for 10 bucks more before a MIR. id definitely go for it
