3930k and Asrcok Extreme11 still worth buying?

I'm trying to make a build that can do amateur content creation (just for fun), but still be "gaming ready". I'm planning on buying 2 GTX 780s for 5760x1080 gaming. I know the Ivy Bridge-E cpus are coming out, but I could care less. The differences seem so minuscule, and from what I heard they're not that good at overclocking that if that board and that cpu are still alive and healthy I honestly don't mind. The 6 cores are great for Adobe cs6, autocad and inventor, and the cards are more than adequate for those applications. My only question is are the two products I just mentioned still worth it? The board is very future proof, and the processor can least me a good three years. I don't mind upgrading my gpus, although I don't feel like I need to until 18 months or so (even at that). any advice?

For high end triple monitors, you may want to consider a couple of Titans. That 6GB RAM will come in real handy. The GTX 780's have "only" 3GB RAM. You will run out.

Why the Extreme 11? You don't need the PLEX chip. I'd get the Extreme 6 and save about $400. That'll just about enough to pay for the upgrade to the best graphics boards on Earth, Titans. The 2011 will drove both boards with full speed USB 3.0X16.

For Triple monitor gaming at 5760x1080, you won't out run out of memory with 3gb, its still plenty for any game out on the market right now at that resolution

The memory and core clock speeds weren't even near enough to accommodate the VRAM. Maybe 4GB, but 6? Just another marketing ploy by NVIDIA. The same thing with their workstations too, both GeForce and Quadro cards have the same architecture but just given different configs (that both could do) just to sell. Kind of sucks, but oh well income is income xD.

Also with the extreme6, sure it's more than half the price less; but in the long run you're running two video cards and you throw in a sound card in their, you're fine; but then you wanna run a thunderbolt or something else then you're out of luck.

And yes, I have heard of games that go to 5GB on triple monitors. The latest and greatest games come close to 2GB on a simple 1920X1080, and Skyrim with all the extras can exceed 2GB on 1920X1080.

Here we have the Titan overclocked a solid 34%. And it's a standard Titan board.

Here we have an article showing 3GB is just enough for Crysis 3 at 2560X1600, your system will need over 3GB. Yes, you need 6GB. Don't mock the Titan!
