So I have my new computer. I have a MSI Z87 - G45 Motherboard. My rosewill Wireless LAN 802.11n USB 2.0 Network adapter and my killer e220 PCI-E Gigabit ethernet controller (NDIS 6.20) aren't working. My internet is stuck at "limited access". I've reinstalled the drivers and my router. Help please?

"Limited connectivity" means that you are connected to the network, but not the Internet. Try disabling any MAC address filtering settings, or reset your firewall, if you have one. Is it just your computer, or are other devices (like a smartphone or tablet) not connecting to the Internet as well?

It's just this computer. My other laptop works fine. My ipod is working fine. It shows I am connected to the network, just not the internet, like you said. I'll try that, but its getting to the point where I am tempted to just reinstall windows.

I ran troubleshooting for internet connections and it says "There might be a problem with the driver for the LAN connection adapter
There might be a problem with the driver for the wireless connection adapter".
I uninstalled and reinstalled both drivers.

When I try to fix the problems as administrator, it tells me the wireless and wired network adapters are having problems.
Then is says There might be a problem with the driver for the LAN connection adapter Detected
There might be a problem with the driver for the wireless connection adapter Detected

It gives me the option to explore aditional options (which is useless) or to close the troubleshooter.

Should I just reinstall windows?

Did you install them from a disc or from online? Also, what operating system are you using?

From the disks that came with the computer parts. I am using Windows 7.

If you can, download the drivers from another computer, store them on a flash drive, and try to install them from there. If that doesn't work, then it's definitely something on your router's end that just doesn't want to let internet access through to your computer. Are you using a router that connects via a coaxial connection (such as the router that the cable company gave you)?

July/4/2013 killer network driver released : http://www.msi.com/product/mb/Z87-G45-GAMING.html#downl...

I also tried to download that. I ran it and it didn't work the first time. The second time it worked. My wired and wireless both were connected to the internet. I turned off my computer. Next morning I turn on my computer and my wireless and wired connections both don't work. I also thought that it might be a my ip conflicting with another computer in my house my dad's computer got a warning message. I can't change my ip. It says The operation failed as no adapter is in the state permissible for this operation.

I can run both Qualcomm Atheros Killer Network Manager and Rosewill 11n USB wireless LAN Utility programs. Running troubleshooter tells me that it is the drivers of both, but I can't make them work.

Log on to the router itself and check if It sees your computer.

using 192.168.1.1? I don't know the password and username. Should I just reinstall windows? I've had the computer for about a week, so there isn't much to reinstall.

You can reinstall Windows if you wish. However, I would just do a hard reset of your router, login with the default username and password (Google them for your specific router) on the site 192.168.0.1, and check to see if it is recognized. If it is, check back and try to reconnect.

I am restarting the router. It is taking a while. I didn't have the cd that came with the router. So i'm waiting for the download and I will try it again once it is done.

Sometimes there is a router firmware upgrade out, Some have a utility also to monitor & adjust settings.

I can't connect to the router. If I click my wireless setup and open it my network has a big red X by it. I tried to put the installer on a flash drive and install it that way but it still didn't work.

Maybe change the channel of the router, I guess the router wps discover button (when pushed) is not seeing the card. Does the rosewill have a button also?

how would I change the channel of the router? The rosewill doesn't have a button. Earlier today when I was actually connected with limited access, my computer was telling me it was driver errors from the rosewill and the killer.

I tried reinstalling the router details onto my computer and it gave me an error message. It says: AN HNAP call to the device failed because the HTTP connection was broken.

Maybe hard wire it, for now and see if it will accept that,

I tried that but it isn't picking up the network. I looked in network connections and there is an X by my Rosewill. It says it is not connected. I right clicked it and clicked connect/disconnect. It started to connect to my router then it quit. The X is still right next to my network name in the connections list.

I think you have to un-plug the card when hard wired, check the bios maybe there is a lan preference setting.

I unplugged it. This is what shows on the network connections screen:

I figured out part of the problem. I have a 802.11n Rosewill which isn't compatible with my router. Even so, shouldn't my hard wire connected to the router work. It still isn't connected to the internet. Why isn't that working.

Power down, remove the rosewill & restart

I did that and it didn't work. It says there might be a problem with the driver for the LAN connection adapter. Should I delete the killer network program/drivers and then reinstall them from the disk?

Can't hurt, if all else fails reset the CMOS, jumper or pop the battery.
