Problem description:

Basically, it posts but gets so far as the "Press F1". Then it spontaneously powers off. It doesn't let me access the bios via pressing keys or anything.

After it has powered off, it won't power back on unless the power supply lead is disconnected and then reconnected.

Have tried a lot of stuff already. Multiple CPU's (an Athlon quad core, and a Bulldozer quad core), multiple sticks of RAM, trying it without a HD installed, CMOS'd it, MemOK'd it, Directkey starting it, and so forth all with the same end result as described.>
It will display the startup screen so fairly sure the graphics card is working ok.

This board is brand new and so is the power supply. I've had the board for like 24 hours and I'm running a Corsair 800w power supply with it. This is really annoying and I'd like to know what's wrong and what I need to do to fix it.

Anyone help?

Sounds like either your motherboard or power supply is shorting. Disassemble the computer, then rebuild it on a large piece of cardboard. If it still powers off you'll likely want to RMA the power supply and motherboard. Or just one at a time if the cost is a concern. If it powers on just fine then you're likely looking at a case defect, or an issue with your standoffs/screws.

@Drew010 it's an R2.0

@rakadedo I tried assembling it on a piece of wood without the case. Same thing happens. It just shuts off when it reaches the point where it suggests pressing F1 for setup.

@Drew010 no I don't think it completes posting.

Yes it goes through the sequence of lights such as DRAM, VGA, CPU and BOOT_DEVICE_LED is always lit at the point it turns itself off.

Right so I has some progress... think we can rule out the PSU because I have stable power to it now (I'm not sure how lol). I have the following error @ bios stage:

current bios settings do not fully support the boot device

It's asking me to adjust the CSM but I'm not sure what this is or what it wants from me.
