Hello all,
First of all let me tell you the specs on my system so that I can better be helped and I would appreciate any and all help that anyone is willing to give.

I have a custom built system with Thermaltake Chaser MkII case
my motherboard is a Gigabyte Ga-990fx-ud3
my processor is an AMD FX 8120 unlocked black box edition
I have 32 Gigabytes of Ram in the form of 4 sticks of Corsair Vengenance Ram 1600 DDR3
my Powersupply is a Thermal take modular TR2 RX 750W
I have two HDD one is a Samsung 840 SSD
the other is a Seagate Barracuda 7200 1TB sata 6gb/s
cooled with a Cooler Master Seidon 240M liquid cooler and a couple of 200mm fans built into the case
and a Gigabyte AMD Radeon HD7870 GPU

I think that is all of the specs now to the question
first of all I would like to move my OS which is Windows 8 professional to my SSD but I am not sure how to set it up so that I get the best performance.
right now the OS is on the regular HDD.

In addition I also have a WD velociraptor 10000 rpm HDD that I will be installing in place of the seagate HDD that I have now which will be moved to an external enclosure for more storage.

So I would like to know is there anything I need to do in the BIOS to install windows 8 onto the SSD does it need to be RAID or can I leave it as native IDE

also the copy of Windows 8 I have is a valid copy that I got from school. however being as I have already used the key when I installed it on the HDD, will I be able to use it again if and when I reinstall it on the SSD

Thanks again in advance for any and all help

Yes ACHI for ssd, Keep steam as it is a launcher but ANY games, large files move over. SSD's for OS, drivers, java ,adobe, Ect... any computer important program. In BIOS you can set boot order, or just rename the drives if it will make it easier.

Ok so what you are saying is that I should go into BIOS and switch the SSD into ACHI mode I should probably format it and remove everything <STEAM, Skyrim, Nexus Mod Manager, misc Mods for Skyrim> from the drive and then do a clean install of Windows 8 to the SSD and then change the drive letter to C:\ as my boot drive correct? or can I leave it as like g:\ and it still be my boot drive?
