Anyone hear if AMD is going to offer this chip any other way than bundled? I just heard that it is not going to happen... :(  I see some online retailers are selling it in two different bundles now, but both bundles include that p.o.s. a.i.o. water cooling loop. :(  I just want the cpu!! And for all of you Intel Fanboys out there, I would buy it if it cost 1500.00 so I don't wanna hear anything about the price. For a work of art it is a steal!!!

I doubt it. Because the chip would fry lesser motherboards, and probably overheat like a mofo, I don't think AMD will be offering these chips on their own.

Personally I think it is a mistake to price it so high, considering intel's offerings at those price points would out perform the chips clock for clock (or even close to clock for clock). I love AMD and would never buy Intel but personally I couldn't justify the costs. Glad to see that some people would though :D

Off topic but yeah... Suferbus, your avatar.... is that supposed to be Nexus from Warzone 2100? If not then the resemblance is uncanny! (just curious mostly hehe)

ethereal essence, just an uncanny resemblance, but ya your right, it does look like Nexus! Thats funny. Ya, great call vmem, Newegg is offering a smaller bundle around 1600.00 and I could resell the unwanted components. Funny thing is, I spoke with ASROCK and they said the 990FX extreme9 will support these new processors, and I already own that mobo. I am wondering if they plan on offering a combo with the 990FX Extreme9?? I just assumed the processor would be sold separately because ASROCK told me that. Guess I shouldn't have assumed anything.
