So I want to build my own gaming rig, costs around $900 or so.
Now theres a sale going on for the Microsoft Surface. It is $150 off original price which is now $350.

Should I get the tablet now that its on sale, or should I just look past it and save for a gaming rig.

I know that the computer can do more, and be more. But then again, I was looking out for a new tablet for mobility, which I am DESPERATE for.

But I have no clue which to go for. Now, if you could tell me which to get and explain why in HUGE detail. I think the tablet is really good ans is a really good deal. But I can't make up my mind :(

Please help

You're comparing apples and oranges here. A $900 PC can play games as well as perform other tasks. The Surface exists more as a laptop replacement tablet. It's meant for business professionals who need the portability and touch screen functions of a laptop but also the power of a full version of the Windows OS. It has PC functions but it will not be a substitute for a full PC or a full laptop. If you want a PC, get a PC. If you want a tablet, get a tablet. But the two are not really comparable to each other in terms of the full functionality each one provides.

Why do u hate it so much? The reviews I've read are really good plus I've seen it in store. I like the operating system and how fast it is. The only thing that I think need to be improved is the display a bit.

Maybe the non-Pro version (720p) will be easier to see. The 1080p Pro display is just too tiny to use. It's almost mandatory to use the stylus to click on a microscopic icon or link. And part of my problem was Win8. I hated using a phone-like OS to try to get anything serious done. I know, there's a desktop like Win7. But it is a crippled desktop.

Trust me, there's a reason they're selling them cheap... Buy a iPad. The best tablet ever made.

Well the reason that you're not going to get a clear answer is that neither of these things is like the other. Like I said if you want a tablet, get a tablet. If you want a gaming rig, get a gaming rig. But it's completely pointless to think that these things are identical.
