I7 860 2.80Ghz running 1 core

Is it normal for my I7 860 2,80 Ghz cpu to be runing only on 1 core? It once was unning 4 cores and my speeds were faster, but now I don't know how to get the I7 back to running 4 cores. Any help would be appreciated.

If it is only working with single threaded program code, it will only use 1 core. Test it with something like prime95 or Intel Burn Test. See if the other cores turn on.

Nothing worked, it still will only run only 1 core and I know it was running 4 cores. Any other suggestions would be welcomed. Thanks for your reply

Run "msconfig" and go to the "Boot" tab, then click the "Advanced Options" tab and make sure that the "Number of processors" box is not ticked
