Hi,

I am on W7 Rampage Formula 3 very stable stock settings for the last year and half.

Recently I installed a SSD Drive and the problems started.

Failed overclocking, monitors don't come up from sleep, three short restarts till W7 loads, one of the hard drives just disapeared, etc.

I tried everything I new, reseting bios, updating bios, fresh W7 reinstall, etc...

I need help. It seems that the Bios force a second version if I put the computer to sleep, cpu fan moved to a slower speed, I get the overclocking failed, etc...

here is my system specs;

Thanks but I am running the last firmware and the speeds @ 3.33 are right.

Gah - my bad - thinking of 980 AMD at 3.7

did i read that right that you have 2 bios profiles switching - or do you mean the bios settings go flip if you go into hibernation?

I have seen this before with a faulty power supply. what is it and how old?

do you get an error code when it says failed overclocking?

It seems that there are two profiles once I notice the fan speed slowing on the second boot.
For some reason the system does not boot at first, it fails, fails again, and the Windows start.

Even setting standard settings on bios don't solv the isseu, I removed the baterry on MB, unplugged all hardware, no solution.

Power supply is 1.5 year old as the rest of the system all high end parts, PS Corsair TX 850 W.

System was sharp before the SSD.

asus boards with marvell controllers do sometimes have issues with SSD actually. To rule this out - try one of the "other color" sata ports on the board. You have 2 different controller chips and therefore 2 different color sata ports. Worth a shot

I will try, btw I removed battery and all RAM overnite and will retry this afternoon.

Mean time I got this problem description that is exactly like mine in another forum but with no solution. Theguy had a mechanic HD though. So I am assuming that it is MB/Bios. Asus never again.

"I am having the sleep resume problem others have mentions. Computer goes to sleep as normal but will not resume. The computer spins up, fan speed slowly increases like cpu is heating up (using silent fan profile), but never gets video signal. If push the reset button the fans slow down then slowly ramp back up but the computer does not boot. If i push the power button nothing happens. If i push and hold the power button the computer shuts off then when powered back on i get no post and no beeps. If i shut it off again it boots up after having to recover bios (forced to push F1 the save bios).
Its not a huge deal but it sure is annoying i cant use sleep on this brand new rig."

Exactly the same problem I am getting.

Thanks for all replies!

Could you please elaborate a bit more?
If I have Bios going wrong, by hitting F10 will just save the non working settings.(or not?)

All I want is a factory settings Bios, so I install the SSD and the other 3 drives I have and be happy...
I don't want overclock. Just a stable, sleepable, nice W7 machine.

Thank you!

FIXED!

1-Removed battery and all RAM and let overnight (30 Minutes I would be OK).
2-Disconnected all Sata cables.
3-Reinstalled the battery, cleaned slots and re-installed RAMs.
4-Installed SSD and DVD on 6GB Sata (Rampage 3 has 6 x Sata 3Gb and 2 x Sata 6Gb)
5-Booted and "kabunga" all running. Sleeping, monitors, fan, etc, all good!
6-Off, reconnected all other drives, changed letters all running.
7- Thanks for all posts, see you in the next one!
