Hello everyone. With my Gtx 770 ( Gigabyte Windforce version ) connected, the system freezes at motherboard's splash screen, not even being able to access BIOS, emits some beeps and then the screen goes black after a minute or two.

Without the VGA, the system starts up perfectly. Am I doing something wrong or is there any kind of hardware incompatibilities, lack of enough psu power, or I don't know, it's just burning my head.

My mobo is a Gigabyte Z77M-D3H and psu Corsair GS500.

Thanks in advance for any kind of help.

It is likely the motherboard beeps are telling you to plug the 12v pci-e power connectors onto the top or backside edge of the graphics card.

They require power from your PSU.
Or a larger PSU is required.

Well... i just solved my problem, it was psu-unrelated. All I had to do was a BIOS update from F4 to F13 and everything now works like a charm. But one doubt remains: is it risky to continue with 500W psu for the gtx 770 + 1 HDD + i5 3570k at stock clock?

If it works, then it should be fine. Guru3d recommended 550 watts on a high-powered overclocked system. As soon as you notice weird things happening, crashes when playing games for example, I would suspect the PSU.

Here's Guru3d's list of symptoms to identify an underpowered PSU:
•bad 3D performance
•crashing games
•spontaneous reset or imminent shutdown of the PC
•freezing during gameplay
•PSU overload can cause it to break down

Im actually having this same exact problem. And i'm a little confused on what you mean by update the BIOS from F4 to F11. Why would that do anything? Because I can't get into my Bio either.

I think he's referring to the BIOS revision number (he's not referring to the 'F' keys on your keyboard). The F11 BIOS is a newer version. You'll have to go to your motherboard website to get the latest BIOS and follow the instructions on how to update it.
