I have an old internal hard drive that I am trying to get music off of. Its a Seagate Barracuda 7200. I purchased The Vantec adapter listed in the title assuming it would allow me to access to the old drive. My computer is not recognizing the hard drive after I connect it completely. Am I missing something? Is it because I'm on a new OS? (HD was on XP when I used it, trying to access it from 8 now). Is there a way to get at the files without creating a new partition or erasing the drive? Any help would be great, I'm fairly novice when it comes to this stuff (obviously). Thanks!

You'll need a power cable for it (there should be two cables plugged into the HDD). Do you have one?
