OK, I have been putting this off for a long time, but I finally want to invest the time and money investing in upgrading my Dell Inspiron 530s (slimline) desktop.

I did some research and found that the Radeon HD 7750 was a good GPU for the price and would fit in the Inspiron 530s.

My question is whether or not my stock PSU (250w) can handle the extra power drainage.

I already have 3 gigs of ram ( 4 sticks), 2 pairs of Dell speakers connected via USB for power, and 2 SATA drives hooked up and draining power on the PSU.

So is the Radeon HD 7750 a good fit for my set up? Or do I need to find a PSU that will fit my case.

Ideally I would like to stick a better processor in there eventually, because i'm running an Intel Pentium E2140 @ 1.60Ghz at the moment.

yes you are good with 250 WATTS power supply.

enjoy it.

here is the best hd 7750 around

low profile

SNA3 provided good recommendation.
I can add that your maximum processor upgrade is E8600, no quads, unless you have a miracle motherboard.
If you start experiencing problems, power supply can be upgraded, but it seems that only USB for power Audio is only extra (have you removed DVDRW in order to place second HDD).
Anyway Sapphire 7750 low profile was reported to work on 165 watt HP, so you should be fine.

Thank you! Your insight on the processor was helpful as well!

And Yes, the DVD drive was removed to use the second HDD. It died on me a good 3 or 4 years ago.
