I would LIke to know what the best CPU out there that I can get for around $300 is. Overclocking most likely isnt going to happen for me. I can buy from anywhere that ships to US and Microcenter In-Store pick-up.

Video editing or anything using lots of threading. i7-3770K for your processor intensive tasks.

I just gave him that link and yes those are the recommened cards. Hopefully he finds what he's looking for. I know how difficult it can be deciding on parts.

Yes I remember that review and totally agree with the evaluation and recommendation they made. The 760 is most definitely the value sweet spot today. I got one and it runs everything well at max settings (unless youre planning on pumping crysis 3 to DA MAX, which even gives a 780 trouble), and you have expansion options in the future to add another card.

Is there anything that is on par with the 760 that would be a little cheaper? I just had to cut my budget back a little anything from like 100 to 200 dollar range? I want it to be able to run Battlefield 3, eventually 4, Skyrim and also Arma 2 and 3

Might not be very good for later games but yes right in that article both jefrymrte and I provided you with you'll find GPUs within the price range will it perform at the level of GTX 760 perhaps not but it will run fine in the short term then when you want to boost your performance later on just slap another one in for crossfire/SLI and you're good.

Hmm, a 7870 XT is on the higher end of things but is a formidable card and not very far behind the 760. There's also a gtx 660, which you could get for pretty cheap now since the 700 series cards have been introduced. I saw some marked down to $175 like a month ago when I was looking for my own build, they should be even cheaper now. Plus I live in canada so I'm gonna pay more than you will, especially if you're near a microcentre. I'd look towards a 7870 XT first tho. Note the "XT" means it uses the chipset of the 79xx series gpu's; superior to what regular 7870s have.

agreed it won't match the 760s performance but it will be some what close to its performance and like I said you can crossfire or SLI later on when you need to jump in performance for games that may become a bit more demanding!

What do you mean by formidable? Also, everyone is saying to go with the i7-3770k, is that a better option for me over the i5-3570k?

The i5 3570 is perfect and considered even the best CPU performance wise and OCing wise for gaming especially for the price. Honestly I say just stick to that CPU the performance difference won't be noticeable. You're good ;)
Seriosuly look at this link

100% agree. I always recommend the i5 unless you are running specific programs on your computer that are actually optimized to USE 12 friggin threads! The frugal midgit inside me weeps every time I see someone wasting $300 for an i7 they will get no use of. Unless you expect to do intensive hd video rendering, editing and/or encoding (folding at home, anyone?) WHILE gaming, don't expect to notice any difference between an i5 and i7. You'd be far better off spending that money (if you must spend it, that is) getting an unlocked 3570k and Z77 mobo and then overclock that sucker if/when you ever need the performance.

Note: the highest load put on my i5 by a game thus far is 30% -_-
