I have a Verbatim Store 'n' Save 3 TB external hard drive with usb 3.0.

The disk dd not start up anymore so i removed the hdd from inside and placed it inside my pc.

I have a windows 7 64 bit OS.
The hdd is from seagate.
I have a ASRock 970 extreme motherboard with bios 2.30 and all asrock provided hdd and usb drivers installed.

The disk

When the hdd was still in the external device i had it partitioned as i bought it, one 2 tb partition and a 750 gb. Both partition have a lot of data on it.

Now it is in my pc and now it only recognises the 2 tb partion and not the 750gb.

When i go to computermanaggement i see the disk as unallocated space. and when i rightclick it dous not give me the option to allocate it and give it a drive letter.

Is there a option to retreve my data?

Thanks in advance!

The firmware in some Verbatim enclosures enumerates the 3TB external drive as two separate physical drives.

Try Partition Find and Mount:
http://findandmount.com/

I suspect that the 2TB partition has been created in MBR mode, and that there is a separate 750GB MBR partition at the end of the drive.

If you could show us contents of sector 0 with a disc editor (eg DMDE), then we could determine how the disc is structured.

There may be also be an easy DIY fix for your enclosure. If you could upload detailed photos of the USB-SATA bridge board, then I could possibly help you repair it.

use recuva this utility is so good it can bring back and repair files from the recycle bin or broken partition.

how it works is the data is not lost there are bits and code left over from windows sloppy indexing service this is complex don't ask.

after this unallocate the drive with DBAN select D.O.D. wipe be extremely careful not to select the drive with windows i am not responsible for data loss.

reformat.

this worked from a laptop in a trash can.
