I have a Kingston 16GB USB drive.
Problem came after 6 months of use. suddenly whenever i connect it to a pc/mac, the drive gets recognized and detected. When I open it, i see my files and directories but if i click once more on any file/directory the computer freezes and stays that way for a few minutes till the USB drive goes out of detection. Alternately, if i remove the drive, it starts working again but not with the drive inside.
I have tried the USB drive on over a dozen systems & even routers with same problem. The only place where it works is in my car's stereo system where it plays 4 songs of 80 i have on drive. It goes out of detection everywhere else. I planned to RMA it but there's some official sensitive data still on it that I need if possible. Anyway i can recover it or perhaps wipe it before sending it out in RMA
