I have the Kingston DDR3 HyperX 1600MHz 16GB on a Gigabyte 990FXA-UD3 Motherboard. The BIOS is up to date. CPU is AMD FX-8150, running at standard speed which is 3.8GHz. And so my memory are as told, 1600MHz. But as I've seen, many 1600MHz-memories are set at 1333MHz. Also looked at Speccy thats says 671,1MHz ( =1333MHz because of the Dual Data Rate). So i went and changed that in my BIOS. But then my computer wont boot because of "overclocking". I've set voltage config to auto and it says OK. only the clock is at manual. Should'nt my memories be able to run at 1600MHz? Is something wrong with them? Is there anything else I must do to the CPU or motherboard or change in BIOS?

Solution
Next would be what mobo, if it's a newer one, look in the advanced area of the BIOS for XMP, DOCP, or EOCP which are OC profiles, if any available set to it and select 1600
