So i decided to get a little more out of my cpu with my new video card in and i tried using the Overdrive program. I used the autoclock feature and it stopped at 3600Mhz and the Ht link ref clock at 225. Not really sure what it means i was just kinda hoping it would all work lol. Well i decided to play Rift and immediately noticed a 10 FPS jump in the game everywhere almost. I was playing for about 45 min and my cpu temp went no higher than 51 C and then all of a sudden it crashed so i reset the settings. But i just noticed that i think it increased my ram frequency as well to about 440 from 400 is there anyway to just increase the clock speed of the cpu without doing the memory? i dunno if thats the problem or if my cpu just couldnt take it im a complete noob at overclocking lol.

Solution
Assuming your use of DDR2 800MHz, manually set the system clock at 240MHz. Drop your RAMs divider one notch from 400- to 333MHz. Your RAMs will now be running spec speed.

You should drop your HT Link multiplier setting to 8x (1600MHz) and lock your PCIe frequency to 100MHz. Raise you NB volts to 1.2v, and leave the NB multiplier at 10x.

Set your CPU multiplier at 14x. Keep your CPU volts as low as possible, and observe any volt-bump you may get from your motherboard ... start at 1.35v (you should be able to adjust in +/- 0.0125v increments). Test for stability and temps.

If you are happy, you may raise your CPU multiplier in .5x increments. If you fail the stabilty test in AOD, bump your VCore +0.0125v and test again.

hmm im using Overdrive and i can find some of the settings you have said but my NB Volts are at 1.75 already and i dunno where my NB Multiplier setting is, I dont know where the option to change the clock speed of my ram is and im not sure what Ram Dividers are either lol. sorry im a complete noob at this

i guess i dont understand very well the different settings and im afraid of blowing up my pc :( i just wish it was easier to overclock lol
