Hello to all of you people out and about. I'm new and was just wondering If I could get opinions on a grapHic card for my Dell Optiplex 745 Minitower/Mid Tower edition.

305 Wattage.
Pentium D Duel Core Processor with 3.00/2.99 ghz.
Windows 7 Refurbished home edition.

I'm not very computer savvy so you'll have to forgive my lack of knowledge on what I should have listed and such. Anyways thank you!

Solution
I really would not want to go below I have shown, but this card GV-N630-1GI NVIDIA GeForce GT 630 1024MB DDR3 PCIe 2.0 x16 is still falls within entry level gaming card http://www.microcenter.com/product/391178/GV-N630-1GI_NVIDIA_GeForce_GT_630_1024MB_DDR3_PCIe_20_x16_Video_Card and, despite recommended wattage, it needs only 65 watt to work, so no power supply upgrade needed.

To find cheaper and still able to play today games in tolerable parameters would be more difficult. GT 630 will let you play BF3 somehow.
I really would not want to go below. This card also was reported having very good cooling abilities, which is important for your case.

I would like to stop here.

If you want even cheaper, go to Microcenter site and look...

My budget isn't so HigH, sadly. Is a less expensive card available? I'm looking at my local microcenter for one in price ranges of 30, possibly 70 max. Less would be awesome. I'm mainly trying to play games like DCUO and Civ5 and similar witH my friends.

HIS H667FR2G AMD Radeon HD 6670 2048MB DDR3 $69.99 http://www.microcenter.com/product/396145/H667FR2G_AMD_Radeon_HD_6670_2048MB_DDR3_PCIe_X16_21_Video_Card did I get Microcenter right, or you just meant some other PC store?

This is the best option for you in this price range, 6670 is entry level gaming card of previous generation.

If you want cheaper, let me know.

I am not so happy, but this would be your next choice XFX HD-657X-CNFV AMD Radeon HD 6570 2048MB GDDR3 69.99 and a rebate, $49.99 After Rebate Savings http://www.microcenter.com/product/402802/HD-657X-CNFV_AMD_Radeon_HD_6570_2048MB_GDDR3_PCIe_21_x16_Video_Card

Anything else I can help you with?

Yes, you got It right, and they have It in stock at the micro center. I noticed that It requires a 400 watt power supply, however. So I'm gonna assume that it'll fuel a pretty decent amount of games on medium to high settings. I want to point out that If cheaper is possible, I'd be very grateful. I'm not into it for high end gaming with the best fps and no lag and everything. I just want what will work for me and not just up and crash and die on me.

Thank you for your help.

Glad that Microcenter around the corner (about 40-50 miles for me), but I have Fry's close, not bad.

I have provided 2 options for you, do you still want cheaper?

Regarding 400 watt - http://www.hwcompare.com/10819/radeon-hd-6570-oem-2gb-vs-radeon-hd-6670-oem-1gb/ very overstated as you can see, also go to Sapphire 7750 low profile feedback section at newegg http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=14-202-002&SortField=0&SummaryType=0&Pagesize=10&PurchaseMark=&SelectedRating=-1&VideoOnlyMark=False&VendorMark=&IsFeedbackTab=true&Keywords=%28keywords%29&Page=2#scrollFullInfo
scroll down to TazarZero post and read it - it can work on 165 watt PSU!

So don't worry about PSU.

Yeah It's pretty lucky that mine is around ten minutes from where I live. To the cheaper section, If there is something cheaper that'll grant me access to games, even If the FPS isn't as great, then I'd like to know about It. If not then I'll take your suggestions to heart and go for one of these two when possible. Either way you've been a large help to me and I thank you for taking the time to help me out.

If you want even cheaper, go to Microcenter site and look around, then provide links here, so I can check if it will fit.

Actually I will provide guide, which can help you choose from the cards the one which will fit, this is how I look for proper fit in Optiplex Mini Tower.

THIS POST APPLICABLE TO MT (MINI TOWER) FORM FACTOR ONLY.

Unfortunately no card that is more than 7.5 inches long or 2 slots wide will PHYSICALLY FIT inside the case - it was found that only single bracket video card can fit due to BTX MOBO, where card internals facing upward towards PC internals, not ATX, where dual card design is blocking another PCI slot by facing downward.
If you prefer the card with beefier fan, then the length of the card must not exceed 7.5 inches, otherwise only "skinny" single bracket, single slot cards can physically fit.

Pictures below will prove my point.

View shows no room for dual bracket

Single bracket only, or you have to cut dual bracket in half

This is the other way to show my point

Here you can clearly see only single place for the bracket

7.5 inches explained, also shown "obstacles"

This is the picture of actual "skinny" single slot video card (not sure which model)- perfect, "glove" fit.

Good luck.

This card, actually, is perfect. It does everything that I'd want it to do with gaming, allowing me to play the games, even If on medium-low settings, and I will be able to have fun. Games such as BF3 were -way- beyond my radar, but that only makes this better IF I ever decided to snag a few old games from PS2 such as Kingdom Hearts to replay. They have a single copy of this card at my local Microcenter and I will be going up there later today, as It is 2am for me now lol, to grab It If no one else has spotted the small diamond in the rough.

Once again, thank you for your help, I appreciate It -so- much that you've taken the time out of your day to help me deal with my lack of knowledge.
